The slides for Prof. Hsiao's lectures at CRETA Workshop on Advanced Econometrics 7 are uploaded! CRETA is honored to invite Professor Cheng Hsiao (蕭政教授) from University of Southern California as a visitor from Jan.19-Jan.23. During his visit, Prof. Hsiao will give a lecture on Cross-Section Approach and Panel Data Approach on CRETA Workshop on Advanced Econometrics 7. The workshop will take place on Jan.21 (Fri.) at Chong Guang Lecture Hall, 2F, Bldg.1, College of Management, NTU (台大管理學院 2 樓重光講堂).

Besides, in order to have more chances to interact with local students and scholars, Professor Hsiao will have public office hours at 2pm~4pm on Jan. 21(Fri.) His office at CRETA is Rm. 415, 4F, Bldg. 2, College of Management, NTU.

[Lecture Overview]
The lecture will cover two topics, review of cross-sectional approach for program evaluation and panel data approach for program evaluation and
an application of the effects of CEPA on Hong Kong economy. The first session will review some cross-sectional methodology and
the second session will illustrate how panel data can simplify the analysis and be applied to evaluate the effects of CEPA on Hong Kong economy.

講者介紹：

Professor Hsiao is currently Professor of Economics at University of Southern California and also a Co-Editor of Journal of Econometrics. Professor Hsiao is well known for his research in Panel Data, whose book, Analysis of Panel Data, has gained tremendous good reviews among the academia. His research articles have been published in several prestigious journals, such as Journal of Econometrics and Journal of Business and Economic Statistics. Professor Hsiao is Fellow of Econometric Society, Fellow of Academia Sinica and Fellow of Journal of Econometrics.
