CRETA is honored to invite Professor Xiaoxia Shi from University of Wisconsin-Madison and Professor Yu-Chin Hsu from University of Missouri at Columbia as visitors from Jul. 14- Jul. 15. During their visit, Prof. Shi and Prof. Hsu will lecture on Introduction and Recent Development of Moment Inequality Models and Introduction to Treatment Effect Models respectively on CRETA Workshop on Advanced Econometrics 10. The workshop is due to take place on Jul. 14 (Thu.) and Jul. 15 (Fri.) at Chong Guang Lecture Hall, 2F, Bldg. 1, College of Management, NTU (台大管理學院一號館 2 樓重光講堂). All participants are welcomed! Please be sure to register your attendance online by noon, Jul. 12 (Tue.).

[Lecture Overview]
Introduction and Recent Development of Moment Inequality Models
There will be three lectures on moment inequality models. The first lecture introduces moment inequality models and covers various applications of such models. The second lecture summarizes the different methods used to estimate and conduct inference for parameters in such models. The third lecture covers conditional moment inequality model and discuss briefly the practical issues of estimating moment inequality models.

Introduction to Treatment Effect Models
There will be three lectures on treatment effects with the focus on the Rubin Causal Model. The first two lectures introduce the Rubin Causal Model. We review various treatment effects under the assumption that the treatment assignment is uncompounded. Then we extend the results to cases where the treatment assignment is endogenous. The last lecture summarizes some of Yu-Chin Hsu’s research in this area.

 

講者介紹：

Professor Xiao-xia Shi is Professor of Economics at University of Wisconsin-Madison and also a referee of prestigious academic journals, such as Econometric Theory, Journal of Econometrics, and Journal of Applied Econometrics. Professor Shi’s recent research focuses on the conditional moment inequality models and development and modification of classical Vuong Tests.

Professor Yu-Chin Hsu is Taiwan-born and currently Professor of Economics at University of Missouri at Columbia. Professor Hsu takes his interests in treatment effects and stochastic dominance. Professor Hsu has been working with different scholars and has published the research results in several renowned journals, such as Journal of Econometrics and Economics Letters.
